Day 10: Olympic Flame travels on the Ffestiniog Railway before arriving in Bangor

A total of 84 Torchbearers, including champion mountain runner, Malcolm Jones and ocean rower, Elin Davies, will carry the Flame before it arrives at the evening celebration in Bangor where a cauldron will be lit to mark the culmination of the day’s festivities.
The first Torchbearer of the day Carwen Richards, 18 from Llanwrds who was nominated by Ceredigion County Council for her work as a Youth Sports Ambassador, will carry the Flame on the Cliff Railway in Aberystwyth. Other landmarks and method of transport will include: Aberystwyth Castle and around the Gordedd Stones, Ffestiniog Railway Steam Train to Porthmadog, Caernarfon Castle and Bangor Cathedral.
The final Torchbearer of the day will be the world famous bass-baritone opera and concert singer Bryn Terfel, who will takes the Flame on to the stage in the Faenol Estate and light the evening celebration cauldron to conclude the day’s proceedings.
The evening celebration will feature a variety of entertainment staged by LOCOG and the three Presenting Partners of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay: Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung. The event is ticketed and all tickets have been allocated. The line-up includes Kids in Glass Houses, a dance troupe that will provide a unique fusion of street performance, theatre and sport, and dance acts Twist and Pulse.
On Day 10 the Flame will be carried through the following communities:
Aberystwyth, Bow Street, Tal-y-Bont, Tre Taliesin, Machynlleth, Dolgellau, Llan Ffestiniog, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Porthmadog, Criccieth, Pwllheli, Bontnewydd, Caernarfon, Y Felinheli and Bangor.
